  • What type of occasion(s) or event(s) are available for Black Betty's Private Culinary Experience?
    Our Private Culinary services are used by clients that are looking to create an intimate and memorable experience. We tailor each event to meet the unique needs of our clients, at the location of their choice. Some examples of private dining experiences include; Date Nights Girl’s Night at an Air BnB Dinner Parties Anniversaries Engagements Birthday Parties Cocktail Parties Corporate Events Retreats Weekend Trips Holiday Parties Vacations Wedding Receptions …and more. Any location where our chef has access to a full kitchen would be a suitable place to create your experience.
  • Where is the food prepared and cooked?
    Everything is prepped and cooked in your kitchen. I’ll bring all necessary tools and ingredients and will leave your kitchen as spotless as it was before I arrived.
  • How do I prepare for your arrival?
    There’s not much to do to prepare for my arrival. However, we do ask that your kitchen is clean when our chef arrives, all major appliances are in full working order, and countertops are relatively clear so that there is ample workspace. The chef will bring all ingredients, pots, pans, cooking utensils, knives, cutting boards, etc. with them.
  • Do I need to be home while the chef is cooking?
    That’s totally up to you! If you won’t be home upon arrival, we’ll just need to arrange for entry. Generally, our chef will arrive two-three hours before your dinner to ensure enough time for prep and/or setup. If you do prefer to be home, please keep in mind that although we would love to chat and explain our cooking process, it will delay the designated start time. As we set up or serve each dish, the chef will explain the preparation and answer any questions at that time.
  • What areas do you service?
    Based in Baltimore County, MD, we serve clients within 30 miles of 21207. This includes areas of Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Frederick County, Harford County, Howard County, Montgomery County, and Prince Georges County, Maryland. We also serve some areas of Washington D.C. In some situations, we can service areas outside of this radius for an additional fee. This can be discussed during your initial call.
  • What are the rates for a Private Culinary Experience?
    Our rates are custom and unique. We price based on the specific meal(s), the market price for required ingredients, and the time required to meet our client's exact needs. You will receive a full breakdown of your cost after our consultation call.
  • How can I see sample menus?
    We do not have a list of dishes for you to choose from because we want your menu to reflect your event and the vibe you are looking to create. After a consultation call, we can create a proposal for you of a menu that would meet your needs.
  • How far in advance do I have to book for a Private Culinary Experience?
    Book at least two weeks in advance so we can thoughtfully plan your event. Once you have a specific date in mind, we suggest you reserve your date sooner than later, our chef's calendar can fill up quickly.
  • Do you require a deposit to book this service?
    Once you approve your event menu and sign your contract, a minimum 50% deposit is due to secure your date. Your actual payment dates will be detailed in your proposal and contract.
